Beckerings Park
DRIVEN SHOOTING
Beckerings Park shoot is 2000 acres of rolling wooded countryside in Central Bedfordshire, adjacent to Woburn. We start late September on Partridge days going to mixed days in October of pheasants with some ducks mixed in from our ponds and lake. Birds are driven from woodland and game cover crops, which shows some great mixed drives. The guns will be transported around the estate in a tailor made Gun trailer.
We have developed the shoot over the years so that whatever the wind we can drive the birds downwind or across wind for choice as this provides a more curling bird. We try to vary the birds from drive to drive to test the guns and to make the day more interesting.
We have the benefit of having the Shoot Lodge set in the middle of the grounds, which is a fantastic centre piece for the shoot. We do a full range of hospitality with our in-house chef, providing a fantastic, traditional game shooting experience.
We offer full days and also run a 6 day syndicate throughout the game season, which consists of 250 birds per day including full hospitality.
We also put on additional days throughout the season and regularly have single pegs available.
This long established shoot suits teams of 8 to 10 guns. If you require a loader, Minder or Coach we can provide you with the right person for the job.
We also hire guns and can supply cartridges for the day if you should need them. Please note, both will need to be booked and paid for in advance.
The Buttermilk Shoot
DRIVEN SHOOTING
The Buttermilk Shoot is 1000 acres consisting of 700 acres of mixed woodland surrounded by arable fields with hawthorn hedgerows with six separate game cover drives, situated adjacent to Woburn Abbey in Bedfordshire. There are ten main ponds and several small splashes across the shoot, which offer a great variety of shooting. There are twelve separate drives throughout the shoot, which we rotate each shoot. This is predominantly pheasant and duck, which provides fantastic sport.
Guns are welcome to bring dogs, provided they are controlled. All dogs will be given plenty of time after each drive to pick up birds before the pickers up start.
We offer full days and also run two 6 day syndicates throughout the game season. These days are run with a friendly, low key atmosphere, where guests bring their own packed lunch. However, Childerley Sporting do provide mid morning refreshments consisting of bubbles and nibbles.
We also put on additional days throughout the season and regularly have single pegs available, starting mid September.
